MODERN FRANCE LECTURES has been put together by four faculty members of French and American university programs in Paris.

 

The speakers are Mariam Habibi PhD, Professor of History, Anne Catherine Abecassis PhD., Professor of Art History, Chris Boïcos Mphil, Professor of Art History and Sylvie Koneski PhD, Professor of Literature.  

 

Our catalog now exceeds 200 lectures, and is enriched each month by a dozen new lectures.

You can choose your lecture(s) from our catalog, or we can work together on a customized a lecture program.

 

All our lectures can be scheduled on site - in your classroom or on your premises, in Paris, at the museum - or on Zoom.

150th ANNIVERSARY OF IMPRESSIONISM

2024 will mark the 150th anniversary of the first Impressionist exhibition which opened in Paris

on the boulevard des Capucines on 15 April 1874.

 

“Paris 1874 – Inventing Impressionism”, from 26 March to 14 July 2024 (Paris, Musée d'Orsay), from 8 September 2024 to 19 January 2025.

 The major exhibition this fall at the Centre Pompidou celebrates the centenary of the birth of the Surrealist movement in Paris with the publication of André Breton’s celebrated “Manifesto of Surrealism” in October 1924.
